The Department of Economics of Bodoland University was started in the year 1998 as Kokrajhar campus of Gauhati University, Guwahati. With the enactment of Bodoland University Act in 2009, it has become a part of Bodoland University. At present, the department provides M.A./M.Sc. in Economics and Ph.D. programme.

OBJECTIVE & MISSION

The mission of the department is to provide scientific knowledge on economics including the economy of North-East India in general and BTAD in particular to the students to make them fit with the changing global economic system. The vision of the department is to make available provision of intellectual exercise among the scholars in the field of research and to disseminate the fruits of research in the adjoining areas for the optimum utilisation of unused resources and to bring overall economic upliftment of the society.
