SELECTION AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE
- Admission in B.Ed., M.Ed., and all PG, Diploma and Certificate courses will be purely on a merit basis.
- The University will separately notify the entrance test for admission in Ph.D. programme.
- The in-service candidates admitted for Ph.D. will have to submit No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institution at the time of application. The Departmental Research Committee (DRC) will decide the number of Ph.D. scholars guided by a supervisor following Bodoland University Ph.D. regulations.
- If a forged document submitted by a candidate is detected even after admission, the admission will stand cancelled.
- The Admission Committee has every right to refuse admission if the candidate fails to produce the original documents when asked for.
- The decision of the Admission Committee regarding admission is final.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. ELIGIBILITY FOR M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com.
- B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. (10+2+3 pattern) with Major / Honours course in the concerned subject with 45% marks.
2. ELIGIBILITY FOR M.Sc. COMPUTER SCIENCE & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
- B.Sc. (10+2+3 pattern) with Major / Honours course in the concerned subject.
- B.C.A / B.Sc. (IT) (10+2+3 pattern) with Mathematical Science in 10+2 level.
- B.Sc. (in the 10+2+3 pattern) with Computer Science / Information Technology as a pass course / elective subject.
- B.Sc. (10+2+3 pattern) with General Pass course with one year Computer Diploma (Post-Graduate) from recognized institute and Mathematical Sciences in (10+2) 1evel.
- B.E. / B.Tech. (CSE or IT)
3. ELIGIBILITY FOR M.Sc. BIOTECHNOLOGY
- Science Graduate having Honours in any of the Biological Sciences with 45% marks or equivalent Grade.
- Pass course students with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade having at least one biological subject in their course combination.
- Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for the reserved quota (SC/ST) shall be given relaxation up to 5% of the marks. The relaxation will not apply to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota.
4. ELIGIBILITY FOR DBT (DIPLOMA IN BAMBOO TECHNOLOGY
H.S. passed (any stream).
5. ELIGIBILITY FOR M.B.A.
- A Bachelor Degree of 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate or in Major/Honours subject (if any) from any recognized University.
- Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for reserved quota (SC/ST) shall be given relaxation up to 5% of the marks. The relaxation will not be applicable to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota.
6. ELIGIBILITY FOR M.C.A.
- A Bachelor degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with at least 50% marks in major /Honours subject or 55% marks in aggregate for those candidates having no major/honours.
- Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for the reserved quota (SC/ST) shall be given relaxation up to 5% of the marks. The relaxation will not apply to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota.
- Candidates must have passed in Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or graduation level.
7. ELIGIBILITY FOR PGDHRE
- Graduate in any discipline with 45% marks or equivalent grade.
- Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for the reserved quota (SC/ST) shall be given relaxation up to 5% of the marks. The relaxation will not apply to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota
8. ELIGIBILITY FOR B.Ed
- Graduate or equivalent from any recognized university with at least 50% mark in aggregate.
- In case of an applicant who failed to secure 50% in the UG course, then the candidate must have secured 55% in the PG course.
- Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for the reserved quota (SC / ST) shall be given relaxation up to 5% of the marks. The relaxation will not apply to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota.
- Teachers deputed by the Govt. of Assam for the course must submit a study leave certificate / No Objection Certificate from their concerned employers along with the application.
9. ELIGIBILITY FOR M.Ed.
- B.Ed. / B.T. of Bodoland University or any other university recognised by this university with at least 55% marks in aggregate as per latest NCTE norms.
- Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for the reserved quota (SC / ST) shall be given relaxation up to 5% of the marks. The relaxation will not apply to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota.
- Teachers deputed by the Govt. of Assam for the course must submit a study leave certificate / No Objection Certificate from their concerned employers along with the application.
10. CERTIFICATE COURSE IN BODO
- Graduate in any discipline with 45% marks or equivalent grade.
- Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for the reserved quota (SC/ST) shall be given relaxation up to 5% of the marks. The relaxation will not apply to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota
10. ELIGIBILITY FOR Ph.D
Admission to the Ph.D. Programme shall be made preferably at the beginning of the academic year. Any person with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade (50%-mark equivalent Grade in case of SC/ST candidates) in a Master´s Degree of any University / Institution recognized by the UGC (Recognised Statutory Body for Foreign Students) in concerned and allied subjects. All candidates shall have to appear in the admission test followed by a personal interview conducted by the concerned Department.
RESERVATION QUOTA
80% of the total seats will be reserved for the merit students of affiliated colleges of Bodoland University. The remaining 20% is open for all merit students from UGC recognised universities, including Bodoland University
a. Reservation of seats for the students belonging to different categories will be as per the Government Rules mentioned below.

Note:
- BU Employees" son, daughter, and spouse: 2 (two) seats in each department (in addition to intake capacity).
- Fringe village (within the radius of two kilometres): 5 (five) seats for the University (within intake capacity; maximum two seats per department).
- Ten (10) seats out of total intake capacity of the institute, one seat in each department, are reserved for the foreign students.
- One seat in each department outside the intake capacity is reserved for the students from other states of India.
- Candidates seeking admission in the category of OBC & MOBC must submit non- creamy layer certificate of the current year.
ADMISSION ON THE BASIS OF SPORTS/EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
For admission against the quota allotted for extra-curricular activities like Cultural, Sports, NCC, Scouts & Guides, the candidates must furnish the requisite documents.
A few seats (not more than two) may be offered by the concerned Department for admission to M.A. / M.Sc. /M.B.A. / M.C.A / M.Com. / M.Ed. / B.Ed. courses to students within intake capacity who have shown extraordinary proficiency in extracurricular activities in the last three years preceding graduation. Any sport/event organized by an association must be recognized by and affiliated to the national body for that sport/event and by Indian Olympic Association.
Preference will be given to candidates in the following order:
- Those who have represented the country in international events;
- Those who have represented their states in the National/ International events;
- Those who have represented their institutions in International/ National events;
- Those who have won prizes at recognized International/ National level events;
- Those who have won prizes at recognized State level competitions;
- Those who have represented the University in N.S.S. Camp at the National level; and
- Those who have obtained NCC, C-Certificates or participated in the Republic Day Parade at the National level under NCC.
CANCELLATION OF SEATS
A student failing to attend classes for fifteen days at a stretch from the date of commencementof classes shall forfeit his / her seat.
ATTENDANCE
75% class attendance is compulsory to appear in all end semester examinations.
