The Bodoland University caters need of higher educational empowerment of people of all castes, creeds and religions in BTR. The University fosters academic spirit through value based quality education to mould youths as the pillars of tomorrow with supreme knowledge and skill for remarkable progress of BTR. The University is engaged in need-based Research & Development activities which integrates indigenous knowledge and rich socio-cultural heritage with emerging modern scientific technology for socio-economic betterment of community in general, and people of BTR in particular. To excel in teaching, research and new technologies, the University strictly adheres to ethics of research, and research findings are published majorly in peer reviewed high impact scholarly journals. The University follows pedagogy of five pillars of the NEP-2020 viz. Accessibility, Quality, Equity, Accountability and Affordability along with skill vocational education, employability and CBCS, etc. The University curriculum encompasses theoretical and practical exposure and skill development as per NEP-2020. The University incubation centres facilitate start-ups in technology and entrepreneurship for the stakeholders. It is also the endeavour of the University to provide international exposure to students and faculties through exchange and collaborative teaching and research programmes with foreign Universities by signing memorandum of agreement. The University adopts tangible academic calendar for regularity of academic session. To trickle down the benefit of higher education to the community, the University reaches out to the people by disseminating pertinent knowledge for quality life, living standards and health. The University has pivotal role in making BTR as an academic hub by imparting quality education, at par with other national /international Universities and Institutions. Foreign students, particularly from SAARC countries, also get opportunity for higher studies and quality research, considering strategic location of the University in Assam state.
Governance of the University is based on the principles of transparency and strict compliance to the Bodoland University Act, Statute and the Ordinance.
Ramification of imparting higher education using ICT efforts and the intensive role of the University in human resource development which is also supported by PM-USHA is quite recognized at national and international level.
