The PhD Course Work in English consists of five papers carrying a total of fourteen credits. The course aims at acquainting the students with domains of research as well as methods in keeping with the contemporary time. Papers taught are more in line of human existence and survival. Human dignity and values are at the core of the entire discourse. The course work prepares the scholar for research which is flexible, innovative and practical. The department encourages research which is holistic, not segregated. Hence, it is less of intra-disciplinary and more of interdisciplinary. The broad outcome of the PhD Course includes:
Paper: 0101: Research Methodology: To carry on systematic research of global standard, the paper makes the students aware of multiple approaches to the field of study based on international dialogues and understanding. The paper also aims at eliciting the best from the scholars with the use of the research tools.
Paper: 0102: Computer Application: Computer application makes the research faster, easier and broader in terms of understanding and relevance. It leads to a global uniformity so far as method is concerned. It also leads to connectivity for assimilation and referenciality. It provides a basis of accessing and integrating digital humanities within the scope of a robust research framework.
Paper: 0103: Contemporary Critical Theory:The course acquaints the students with the critical theories that are used in analyzing literary works and also in making further contribution to theoretical approaches. After the completion of the course the students will be in a better position to use literary and critical theories as frameworks to read various forms of texts. It also shall the students to use an interdisciplinary approach while broaching topics of relevance.
Paper: 104: Comparative Literature:The course acquaints the students with the critical theories that are used in analyzing literary works and also in making further contribution to theoretical approaches. After the completion of the course the students will be in a better position to use literary and critical theories as frameworks to read various forms of texts. It also shall the students to use an interdisciplinary approach while broaching topics of relevance.will enable the learners to comprehend literature both inside and outside the contexts and have a better understanding of human experiences throughout the world irrespective of any boundaries.
Paper: 105: Research and Publication Ethics: After the completion of the course, the students will informed about the ethical aspect involved in research. The students will understand the limits of the use of human subjects, avoidance of plagiarism and self- plagiarism, appropriate use of academic language, ethical use of online and digital information, and acknowledgement of use of ideas from other sources. Precisely, the foundation of research will be made strong by understanding the ethical practices.
